Basic oversight for unoccupied properties. This plan provides non-invasive monitoring and timely reporting while you are away.
All Wellington Home Watch services have a surcharge of $0.60 per kilometre for any locations beyond 15 kilometres from Fergus, Ontario.

Visit Scope (Exterior + Limited Interior)
Exterior Monitoring
- Confirm doors and windows are secure
- Visual check for signs of forced entry or vandalism
- Observe roofline, soffits, and siding for visible damage
- Check for mail, flyers, or signs of vacancy
- Observe driveway, walkways, and entrances for hazards
- Visual check for storm or weather damage
Interior Monitoring (Limited)
- Visual check for obvious water leaks
- Confirm heating system appears operational (no temperature verification)
- Check for power availability (visual check of lights / breakers)
- Look for unusual odours (mold, gas, sewage)
- General condition overview (no testing of systems)
Reporting & Notification
- Written visit report
- Photo documentation of key areas
- Immediate notification for urgent issues
Exclusions
- No flushing of toilets
- No running of water
- No appliance checks
- No plant care
- No concierge services
If Wellington Home Watch personnel detect unusual or potentially hazardous odours, including but not limited to natural gas, sewage, or mold, the following actions will be taken immediately for safety reasons:
- Wellington Home Watch personnel will exit the home immediately
- No further interior monitoring will be performed during that visit
- The situation will be treated as a potential safety hazard
- Wellington Home Watch will follow its published Emergency Policy for appropriate next steps
This policy exists to protect the safety of all parties and to ensure appropriate response to potentially dangerous conditions.
